Welcome to Paradigm Sporting Dog! I am a mixed animal veterinarian in central Oklahoma and have been practicing for over 7 years. As a veterinarian, maintaining the health of our canine companions is my calling, but I especially love providing veterinary care to bird dogs. These dogs stand out amongst the rest because they are such impressive athletes with a desire to work and please. Walking behind my dog in the middle of public land is what fills my cup more than anything. My passion for upland hunting and the dogs that we are privileged to hunt over led me to creating Paradigm Sporting Dog.

In November of 2021, I was in South Dakota pheasant hunting with my friends and GSP, Sally. That morning, she had run through a barbed wire fence chasing a bumped pheasant hen and cut the inside of her leg. Thankfully, I had supplies to clean the wound and appose the laceration with a skin stapler. On the way back to our hotel, I called a local Walmart in town and was begging the pharmacist to wait for me as I hastily drove to pick up medications for her that night. The whole experience made me start thinking about people who don’t have the luxury to call in prescriptions or know what to buy for their dog in the first aid isle. After getting back to Oklahoma, I revamped my truck first aid kit. I added extra supplies as well as prescriptions to avoid another late night run to a pharmacy.

The following spring, a friend of mine asked me to put together a first aid kit for him. He explained that he wanted everything I had in my own personal kit in order to be fully prepared. I realized there were likely other bird dog people in the same situation. After getting through some of the initial hurdles of starting a small business, Paradigm Sporting Dog was launched in November 2022. Since then, more and more bird dog handlers are prepared to care for their hunting partner in the field. My goal is to educate and empower others to care for their dogs in the field while still fostering and maintaining a lasting relationship with their personal veterinarian.
